Basketball - Road Warriors Senior Men's National Team

TORONTO, ON - The 2010 FIBA World Championship in Turkey runs from August 29 to September 12. Canada's 2010 roster was announced Friday.

Head Coach Leo Rautins describes this year's team as having very positive attitude and work ethics, despite earlier setbacks due to injuries and illnesses.

This year's roster include Canadian NBA stars Andy Rautins (NY Knicks) and Joel Anthony (Miami Heat) who are both returning from 2009 FIBA American Championship.

The team also include newcomers Robert Sacre (Vancouver, B.C.) and Kelly Olynyk (Kamloops, B.C.). Rautins has this to say about his 2 Gonzaga University boys, "To be able to bring two players into the mix like Kelly and Robert, who can be a part of our program for the next 10 years, is a huge asset for Canada Basketball. Seeing them play for the Road Warriors is an inspiration for other young players who dream to play for the senior team."

Rautins lists his lineup objectives:

1. To put together the best team that can win
2. To build team chemistry and to balance positions
3. To see through the long-term development of (the team's) elite program.
